"Montreal-based artist Jesse Speed opened the show with his acoustic guitar, alternating between heartfelt songs and great storytelling (including tales of the neighbourhood, his friends and jokes about his armpits)"

Canadian Beats

"The songs feature the singer's signature sparse and stark arrangements, but there is a touch of the troubadour's swagger in the relating of his tale."

Press BIO

Within today’s hyper-social conventions, Jesse is a lone wolf. Subtly enigmatic, on stage he is intriguingly comfortable yet remains unmistakably honest. His lyrics describe modern social archetypes, emotionally charged personal portraits and memories of a parallel existence. He’s been compared to artists like Bonnie Prince Billy and Father John Misty. Jesse grew up on a farm in Quebec’s rustic South-West and is now based in Montreal.
